My name is Emily, and I am the owner and lead trainer at Perspective Canine Training. From a young age, I was surrounded by dogs of various breeds, with each becoming a cherished companion. When I was 10 years old, my parents brought home a German Shepherd, which sparked my passion for dog training. I immersed myself in training videos and literature, quickly recognizing that I had a natural aptitude for it.
As a teenager, my interest in dogs grew, and I began offering dog-sitting and training services for family and friends. At 18, I adopted a rescue dog, Mia. With my prior experience, I was confident I could help her adjust, but I soon realized Mia's behavioral triggers, especially towards other dogs, required more specialized attention. This led me to dive deeper into research and implement training techniques based on my existing knowledge. However, recognizing the need for professional guidance, I enrolled Mia in a training program that significantly improved her behavior.
With the support of experienced trainers, I not only successfully worked through Mia's challenges but also gained the skills and knowledge necessary to advance my career. I was fortunate to be mentored by skilled professionals, which allowed me to develop into a full-time trainer. In 2021, I founded Perspective Canine Training and have since been dedicated to continuing my education through mentorships, self-study, and classes with my own dogs.
To date, I have trained over 100 families and their dogs, helping them achieve success with basic obedience, off-leash recall, and overcoming challenging behaviors. My passion is to help dog owners foster a harmonious relationship with their pets, maximizing the potential for a fulfilling life together.
